Coach — 1972

Doug Boe captained both the SW football team and basketball team his senior year but his real legacy was yet to come. After receiving his degree from Hamline University in Physical Education and Health, he started his coaching career at Burnsviille High as freshman football, basketball and baseball coach but quickly moved up to varsity coaching positions.

As BHS Boys Head BB Coach (1996- 2010) His teams were Section Champions (2004 & 2008) and State Runner-up (2004). He amassed 214 wins and was named Lake Conference Coach of the Year three times.

He was the Varsity Girls Head coach from 1986-94. Winning 5 Region Champs, 2 State Championships (1991& 92) and 2 Consolation titles (1989 & 95), his teams amassed more thn 200 wins.

Doug was inducted into the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2015.

He is thought to be the only Varsity Head Coach to Win 200+ career games in both Men's and Women's Varsity Basketball in Minnesota.

As if all that weren’t enough, Doug started the Burnsville Girl’s Badminton team which won State championships in 1996,97and 98. From 1999 -2010 he was also the Assistant Boy’s Golf Coach.

Doug retired in 2010 and left Minnesota soon after. He is married to Carol, a Washburn grad, and they have two children and six grandchildren.
