Indians Take Second In State

After starting out with two losses on their first Northern trip, the team record swelled to 14 and three the rest of the regular season including two wins on their second Northern trip.

The Region V playoff included wins over Minneapolis West 6-1 (avenging an earlier loss); Blake 5-2; and then Minneapolis Roosevelt 8-0 in the final.

State play opened with a 5-2 win over Roseau then a 2-1 overtime win over Bloomington Lincoln. John Meredith scored a third period goal to extend play and Steve Lindmeier netted the winner. In the final game against Grand Rapids, Meredith opened the scoring but Rapids answered 6 times to secure its first state championship. Dan Mott and Robb Leer shared goaltending duties in the final game.
